Marbella Mountain Resorts – Revolutionising Luxury Villa Experiences
La Zagaleta, undeniably the most exclusive address in Marbella, well just outside of Marbella really, in the lush green hills, with a stunning view of the sea in the distance and the mountains behind, and as the sunsets every evening a romantic amber glow descends over that vista.
La Zagaleta is an exclusive fully secure mountainside enclosure for the truly wealthy, it features an equestrian centre, with the facility to arrange riding lessons, there is a fabulous well kept golf course, although this is only available to villa owners, a helipad and a clubhouse.
La Zagaleta is home to some of the most affluent individuals, but some properties are available to rent through Marbella Mountain Resorts and these villas are astoundingly impressive and most are fully staffed for your comfort.
Marbella Mountain Resorts offer a full concierge service, 5 star, along with your rental, anything from booking your helicopter transfer from the airport to the villa, fine in-house dining to arranging horse riding lessons and babysitting, it’s a complete service, that runs seamlessly.
We were honoured to be residing in a most beautiful traditional style villa, with every conceivable facility. The pool and gardens were thoughtfully designed with planting that created little pockets of romance and views of the surrounding area. Some of the villas and there are over 200 at present, are more akin to glamorous palaces, some with football pitches, cinema rooms, staff quarters, mini playgrounds for the toddlers and so much more.
Our villa featured a huge, comfortable and stylish bedroom, copious wardrobe space and a bathroom larger than some apartments! The soft furnishings were sumptuous, in soft shades of blue and grey, no garish colours in this residence. The kitchen was superbly equipped and the dining and seating areas were numerous, with a huge comfortable covered barbecue area beside the pool, dozens of tables for two dotted around the grounds, plump overstuffed settees on the terrace to large sophisticated dining tables for ten, both inside and out. This villa lends itself to the summer months with all of the amazing outdoor space and large pool, the perfectly manicured gardens are a delight to explore, but equally the villa would be cosy in the cooler winter months too.
We had two nights here and enjoyed visiting the beautiful nearby Marbella just a quick scenic drive down the mountainside. Marbella is full of delights, fabulous bars and restaurants, beaches and boutiques, it’s a bustling and busy cosmopolitan town, we had a couple of late nights here, but were happy to return to the solitude of La Zagaleta.
Our next two nights were to be at an equally stunning villa deep in the very productive Ronda hills, a 1000 square metres with five bedrooms and can sleep up to 14 Reser Retreat. We had a bumpy but fun dirt track ride for the last few miles after a stunning journey on the Ronda road. The Ronda scenery is stunning, it’s a city steeped in history and the old town is well worth a visit, but put your walking shoes on, there are thousands of steps if you decide to be energetic, the views are astounding, the town is quaint. There are several hotels with terraces looking out over deep valleys and across the Ronda countryside offering delicious tapas.
We arrived at the Ronda villa to be greeted by the two housekeepers and their gorgeous dog Ruan, whose bark was definitely bigger than his bite, a real softy. The villa was comfortable and reminded me of a ranch. The terraces and gardens were large, rustic and more open than the previous villa, there seemed to be no boundaries to the surrounding countryside, we had no neighbours, it was a peaceful and real escape.
We experienced a most romantic meal here, Anna the housekeeper, prepared a stunning traditional five-course dining experience, by the pool, with beautiful linen and silverware. The sunset here is a sight to behold, the sun casts a stunning golden hue over the hills in the distance and the pool in the foreground. Anna looked after us, giving us just the right amount of space and privacy. The food and wine were amazing, it was an evening to be remembered forever.
The villa had a stunning entrance, a large farmhouse style kitchen, several bedrooms, each with a bathroom, a cinema room and wonderful seating areas, in and out. But for us it was the pool, large and deep, with a jacuzzi that won us over, two days here was just not long enough, we did unwind with the help of a lovely full body massage though, but a few more days would have been perfect.
Marbella Mountain Resorts provide a first-class service, with a large selection of stunning villa, some large and impressive enough to serve a visiting president!
We felt the service provided by Marbella Mountain Resorts was faultless.
