About De Grendel:

De Grendel celebrates its 300th anniversary this year, marking three centuries of a Cape landmark whose story – and that of its fourth-generation owners, the Graaff family – is deeply woven into South Africa’s history.

Renowned for its award-winning wines and its restaurant rated among the best for fine dining in South Africa and Africa, De Grendel has been a working farm since the land on the Tygerberg hills outside Cape Town was granted in 1720. De Grendel today is a leader in sustainable farming and conservation, home to vineyards, a prized Holstein cattle stud, dairy, sheep, horses, fruit, grain, and a conservancy of indigenous renosterveld and game.

About the wine:

The First Baronet of Cape Town blend is made in honour of the life and legacy of Sir David Pieter De Villiers Graaff, the 1st Baronet of Cape Town, and a tribute to the exemplary character and remarkable achievements of this great man.

A true legacy wine, produced in limited quantities to last for over 20 years, each individual bottle is numbered and supports the signature of Sir David Pieter de Villiers Graaff, in remembrance of the responsibility bestowed upon his children by his legacy.

About Zalto Glassware:

All Zalto glassware is handblown and made from lead-free crystal to give it a high resistance against clouding. Despite their feather-light weight, the Zalto glasses maintain all attributes of a modern glass as far as care and longevity are concerned and are 100% dishwasher safe.

The Zalto Bordeaux glass is ideal for wines full of character and high in tannins. It accentuates potency, concentration, extract and tannins. It can also be used for Rioja, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz.
